BUMP TO UPDATE for 2020: We lost four this year (Kirk Douglas at the age of 103, Max Von Sydow, Stuart Whitman, and Ian Holm), and we added four (Donald Sutherland, Judd Hirsch, and Topol), all of whom turned 85. If you include Sutherland - honorary recipient but shockingly never nominated for a competitive Oscar - then should you also include Claude Jarman Jr? He is 86 and recipient of the Juvenile Oscar that used to be presented in the 40s and 50s.
Yes, I absolutely agree. He was beneath my radar, but I'll correct the post to include him. Thanks for the recommendation.
