So, to work remotely I have a company laptop, and also can access my work desktop via VPN. Part of what I do is drop items into our accountant's server for tax purposes. This is what I have experienced in the last two days: 1. I can't access the accountant's server from my company laptop. Something with the IP being changed. The tech guy I use is away until the middle of the month. So, I figure, no worries, I'll just access my work desktop via the VPN. 2. Try logging in, no issue. When the access screen comes up, it loops, then it say "connection failure". I close that screen, but on the main screen where I log in it's showing I'm connected. I can't disconnect because I can't get in. UGH!!! I, I figured I'd scan some things and then email them over on a secure upload. 3. I turn on my freaking expensive printer/copier/scanner that is TWO FREAKING years old, and the scanner is making a loud noise, and a message comes up on the printer/copier/scanner screen saying SCANNER FAILER. I follow all the fix steps, but it appears the scanning mechanism is DAMAGED, which is weird because I used it yesterday to scan a receipt for FLEX dollar submission. I figure I'll buy the scanner part and install it. 4. Go on the device site, and they no longer support a two year old printer/copier/scanner, so I can't even get the part. 5. Look for other sellers, and found a refurbished one - that's all there is out there - for $74.99. 6. For the hell of it, I look online to see what a new printer/copier/scanner is that will meet my needs - $350 low end to $550 or more. So, now I'm trying to decide if I chance buying the refurbished scanner part, or just bite the bullet and buy a new fucking device. I hate HP. 7. In the meantime, I kind of dead in the water, and I can't go into the office because I was there yesterday for 1.5 hours, which is all they want us there once a week until after January (Holiday COVID uptick). /rant
