I'd ask them why they felt compelled to fly the flag.
that would be the smart thing to do, which is why i didn't think of it.
Eh, you'd probably only get ignorance, half-truths, open hostility, or all of the above by asking. No one raises a Confederate flag because they want to have a stimulating conversation.
