I just glanced over the articles, but Posnarski's main argument is that McGwire admitted to juicing and Manny hasn't. And Manny was "difficult". He didn't seem to be in his first few years with Boston. Yeah, there was incidents but that was a team of "idiots" so he fit right in.
Wouldn't it be nice if these things were based solely on what happens on the field of play, like it really should?
