Hubei. My hometown is across the river from Hunan.
Ahhh … probably the only really Hubei-specific food I know of is spicy duck necks, kinda made famous through the excellent 2002 film Life Show. I almost went there in late-2019, but I decided to go to Changsha instead (for the stinky tofu, of course).
I think the only other film I've seen for Hubei was Gone With The Light, which was filmed in Yichang. Great cast (Tan Zhuo, Huang Bo, Vicky Chen, Huang Lu, etc), and possibly the most perfect ending for film since Christian Petzold's Phoenix.
