This has been on my watchlist for ages. I'm a fan of Lester's other movies, and I really enjoyed Class of 1999. Apparently the Blu-Ray is a pretty good transfer, another on my huge list of shout-factory movies to pick up over time... I don't know why Mark never became a bigger director within the action/horror/comedy genres, as he released several solid films during the 80s and early 90s, and beside Class of 1984 and Commando he put out titles such as Firestarter (1984), Armed and Dangerous (1986), Class of 1999 (1990), Showdown in little Tokyo (1991) and Night of the Running Man (1996), also I remember him doing a great little b-movie later on with Craig Sheffer as a writer being caught in some mystery/crime plot, but I don't remember its name. |
