Asexuality could be classed as a personality disorder but I don’t think it’s a particularly harmful condition. From the same link... Personality disorders are mental health conditions that affect how someone thinks, perceives, feels or relates to others. Yes, it could be a bit of an exaggeration, however, I myself feel that those that label themselves asexual, perhaps lack a bit of confidence in themselves, or might not feel sexy enough if they think they are ugly to not have others interested in them. I still don't feel that they lack a sexual drive, unless their bits are surgically tampered with. Visual aesthetic is also a decider for attraction and is born of mind mostly and even castrati attempted to be sexual. It could very a very, very small sex drive. As for the alphabet soup question I put that down to people wanting to be inclusive which can be both a good thing and a bad thing. With luck the incels (see your description above) won’t be invited but who knows what will happen.
