Other than KC, the future in the AFC belongs to the Bills and the Browns. New England is rebuilding and Pittsburgh is in decline.
I've liked the Buffalo Bills ever since Sean McDermott became head coach.
I think the AFC North will be tough. The Cleveland Browns are one of the youngest teams in the league so they can improve. I think the Steelers will be strong again, the big question is whether Ben Roethlisberger's still got it; their defense can be one of the league's best. Cincinnati are building something and they look like they have a QB in Joe Burrow. And the Baltimore Ravens will be back, I've no doubt about that.
McDermott has been a godsend but so has Brandon Beane. He's drafted well, trading up for Josh Allen, getting Tremaine Edwards, Ed Oliver, Gabriel Davis. Spent wisely in free agency, no gazillion dollar deals for duds like Mario Williams, made a beautiful trade for Stefon Diggs. Both brought a winning mentality to Buffalo, something that hasn't been there since the so called "Music City Miracle". They have come a long way from the Rex Ryan/Doug Whaley days.
Speaking of Stefon Diggs, I thought he was a surly prima donna and a jackass in Minnesota. He been a joy in Buffalo. Always smiling.
