He's on my original top ten. I mention in the write up that he's kind of a forgotten action star. You look at his resume and wow. The Thing, Escape From New York, Big Trouble in Little China, Tombstone, just for starters! Not sure how you feel, but I think Tango & Cash is a blast.

Yeah Tango and Cash is loads of fun.

There's also Executive Decision, Breakdown, Bone Tomahawk (sorta), Backdraft, Unlawful Entry, Soldier, and even in Death Proof where he is ultimately a crying little bitch (which is hilarious) he's an imposing actiony villain. Plus he was doing all those like westerns and Disney stuff since he was a little kid.

I guess people think of him as an old school movie star because he did a lot of different kinds of movies, but you're right that he's sort of not thought of as an action guy but he's definitely got the credentials.
