The party scene from Revenge of the Nerds (1984), where the Tri-Lambs and the Omega Mu are having a ball due to the magic of Wonder Joints, with Pointdexter showing off his surprisingly cool moves, along to Michael Jackson - Thriller going on for full, in the background.
Okay, so maybe not so much a dance scene. More of a chaotic and really chilling set up, to how Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese gets to meet each other, but also most importantly, it introduces Sarah to the T-800 Terminator, and sees it for what it really is. An ice cold killing machine, capable of reaching her, even in the most "safest" enviroment, full of people and crowds. Something which sadly for Sarah, will come back to haunt her, during an even more brutal nightmarish scene, when not even a police station, full of armed cops, is enough to keep the Terminator away.
Anyway, this is such a stylished and cool scene. Sure, some of the dancing figures comes off as quite something else, but I sure love the slow and emotional build up, followed by the shock and the intensity, and how the music is toned/slowed down, along with the mechanical beating heart of The Terminator coming into focus, and how well it all is put together. For me, surely one of James Cameron's finest scenes. I must have re-watched it on Video tape, DVD and leter on Youtube/Blu-ray, for so many times, and never go tired of seeing it again. Perfection all the way, even if some of the dancers in the backgroun, kind of looks a bit goofy/comical, but hey, it was the 80s, and I would not have it any other way.
