We only see one side of this conversation. We don't know if the messages are real. We also don't know if it's a mutually shared kink fantasy that he and his partner/s have shared.

As for carving a letter, I've seen couples getting tattoos together, even getting "brandings" or piercings together. If you do some type of body modification and regret it later then post about it, it's the new fangled form of revenge porn.
I also think it's cruel to kink shame. People saying he's "acted upon it"? That's stating he actually ate human flesh. What's sort of interesting is, what if even that was mutually-agreed upon? (It's still a no-go because it's illegal but it's an interesting subject for debate).
Based on the news, no one has the full picture, or the full context, or all the information, and no one knows what's real, yet everyone's quick to be judge and execute someone based on "thought crimes."
