The Motion Picture boasts gorgeous visuals and a majestic soundtrack. I really respect the hard sci-fi angle they went for. One of my favourite 70s film. The 2001 Director's Edition is the definitive version though.

Star Trek V also has a fine soundtrack and lots of great character moments. The starship models and effects are abysmal, however, and the plot is a complete mess. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 handled the whole evil god thing much better. I'd still rank it ahead of the Abrams-directed movies.
