It's been 20 years since I last watched it, but by no means is it a bad film. Bleak? Certainly. But it's a well-made horror film (other than the dated CGI, that is). I look forward to checking out The Assembly Cut later this year. Have you seen that version? I believe it's a good deal longer. I have. Although many find it superior to the theatrical cut, I still prefer watching the theatrical cut. The additional scenes don't hurt the movie, but I don't think they make it much better.
