It sounds like she was giving Disney a FU. I don't think she was being
like Brando where he tried to use WW 2 to critique the studio owners for
their racial stereotypes, that they should be more conscious of other people's
suffering. And it backfired--he had to apologize.
Ironically they hired her because they didn't want toxic masculinity
on their show--they cant have a white man kicking ass.
But she sees the moral problems with their intolerance and hatred.
As I said, for Disney's owners
the vision that Maleficent had for the prince
in Sleeping Beauty-where he is locked up until he is an old man
that's Disney's agenda.
They did it in POTC 4.
The white christian guy tied to the mast-who ends up wounded
and dragged down into the water by the mermaid.
