The Guest was as schlock and as stupid as it gets it was dumb fun. A family letting in some random serial killing stranger into their home who claims to have been friends with their dead son is certainly not the kind of film that I'd expect someone putting down "big budget schlock" to like. Yeah...fun. Did anyone say that about Blair Witch and Death Note? His prior films also had self-awareness, atmosphere, and genre bending. Things that have been noticably absent since. His style is also completely gone. It was those things, btw, that landed him these bigger jobs in the first place. If he keeps making shitty reboots that piss people off for pure greed, how long you think it's gonna last? Blair Witch was utter garbage are you trying to build Adam up here or not? Because I've got to be honest with you if that's the best you can come up with of Adam's previous supposedly promising film work then long may his big lizard fights big gorilla face off movies continue. |
