What if they don't want to play for that club, or live in that place? What if they could get a better deal elsewhere. They might hate the club that picked them?

They get paid based on the number they are drafted at. They don't really get to negotiate as the salary is fixed until they become a free agent after 4 or 5 years. If they don't want to play there then they can try and make the team that drafted them trade them (it has happened before but not often) or they can retire/quit. They don't really have much say in the matter.
