Of course that argument holds for everything. Why watch games? You don't personally know anybody and the scores are put on the Internet after they happen.
The suspense
I guess there's suspense in the Draft but I care more if Dallas can beat Cleveland than whether Detroit takes a linebacker or a receiver.
Some people are interested in how the beer gets brewed, the car gets assembled, the movie gets made. That's me with football teams.
