Which brings us to the draft. The worst team gets the #1 pick and in sense gives you the chance at the best player. It has brought on the idea of "tanking". You lose on purpose because you feel that the best player coming into the draft could change your franchise. So if you're not in the title race, it's in your interest to play to lose? That's crazy. Kind of, yeah. It all depends on what perspective you want to view it upon. No player wants to lose/suck as it will cost them a job/money. Same goes for a coach. Meanwhile the team owners don't give a fuck (they are billionaires already) as unless they are contenders they might as well lose and get the best draft choice. Owners have no real fear for there jobs. Meanwhile players getting drafted get paid more via how high they are drafted. So even if its a shitty team/place the player is likely to go there because its more money.
