Which brings us to the draft. The worst team gets the #1 pick and in sense gives you the chance at the best player. It has brought on the idea of "tanking". You lose on purpose because you feel that the best player coming into the draft could change your franchise. So if you're not in the title race, it's in your interest to play to lose? So that you get your pick of the indentured slaves at the auction. That's crazy. The draft is truly an antiquated process. There's no reason for it to exist, particularly with a salary cap for the league. What other walk of life are you forced to work somewhere you don't want to work? It's crazy.
