moviemouth
Okay i see.
but yeah, it just happens for me sometimes but like i basically said before i would say in the last 4 years, maybe 5, or so a fair amount of movies i used to think more highly of have dropped off. but i would say the majority basically stay the same-ish for me, but maybe that is slowly changing a bit more to drop off.
every now and then a movie will increase for me on a re-watch though as in terms of most recently seen here is some that went up...
-Le Samourai (1967) - 6/10 to a 6-6.5/10 (Mar 24th 2017. my 2nd viewing)
-Anthony Zimmer (2005) - 6/10 to a 6-6.5/10 (Mar 20th 2017. my 2nd viewing)
-Venus in Fur (2013-2014) - 6/10 to a 6-6.5/10 (Feb 13th 2017. my 2nd viewing)
-Dom Hemingway (2013-2014) - 6/10 to a 6-6.5/10 (Jan 23rd 2017. my 2nd viewing)
-Interview (2007) - 6/10 to a 6-6.5/10 (Jan 16th 2017. i think it's my 2nd viewing.)
-The Heat (2013) - 6/10 (or a 6-6.5/10) to NEARLY a 6.5-7/10. so it's borderline either way but still a 6-6.5/10 basically. (Jan 17th 2017)
-Byzantium (2012-2013) - 6/10 to a 6-6.5/10 (Jan 19th 2017. my second viewing.)
etc
but in terms of movies in the 7/10 or higher range the most recent ones to increase in score for me are...
-Angel-A (2005) - 8/10 to a 8.5-9/10 (Apr 30th 2016)
-The American (2010) - 8/10 to a 8.5-9/10 (Oct 20th 2016)
-Source Code (2011) - 8-8.5/10 to a 8.5-9/10 (Aug 6th 2015)
-Skyfall (2012) - 8-8.5/10 to a 8.5-9/10 (Dec 8th 2015)
-The Hustler (1961) - 8.5-9/10 to a 9/10 (Dec 29th 2016)
etc
so as you can see... my scores do increase here and there but there is clearly more than dropped off for me in that 2012/2013 to date time frame than increased as just looking at Jan 1st 2017 to date there is 16 movies that dropped in score for me on re-watches. but some of those are still solid but i was purely counting the volume of movies that dropped in score even if it was a little.
i wish i had more increasing like you as that's great. but it's not like either of us have any real control over it as we enjoy what we enjoy and rate em accordingly. you just happen to have more increasing than decreasing than i do.
It was a comment at how many movies drop for you on re-watch, which is something I fail to comprehend. I have re-watched many movies and the majority of them stay relatively the same. In fact, movies go up for me on re-watch more than they go down.
I am a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz and I have seen it many times.
