I gave up with Negan (sp?). I read his arc on the fan wikis, and it was some Über-Governor. So no thanks. They never developed the show and made it about the re-start after the apocalypse, but changed between two main tropes: a totally degraded enemy (Cannibals, Wolves, Whisperer) or the functional psycho ones (Governor, Police/Hospital staff, Negan etc. pp.).

And here and there they kill a main character for the shock value.

Don't forget the third trope, the accidental enemy: the milquetoast, denial-ridden softie who hasn't yet realized they're in a kill or be killed apocalypse and needs hard boy Rick to step up and show them what's what (Hershel, Alexandria).
