But they didn't. So your argument means nothing. Their style of play is based on a wide open, free flowing game. The dominant players of that 80s-90s era played in a bruising league, how do you think it would affect their numbers to not have to deal with physical defense? How are you not understanding the difference? Transplant Steph Curry into that era and how would he play immediately? Transplant prime Bird, Jordan, Magic, Barkley, etc into today's NBA and what adjustments would they have to make to score the basketball? Get it? You treat your hypothetical scenarios as if they were facts. We can't "transplant" any players into different eras. You're arguing about something so stupid and pointless. This is nonsense fantasy basketball. You just don't understand what I'm saying. "If they played in that era, they would've trained the same way as everyone else and thus been just as effective." The point is that their game, as it is now, is a product of the time they live in, and that's the argument I'm making. Jordan/Thomas/Barkley etc. in their prime would dominate this league without any caveats. They could show up and dominate. Curry and Klay would have to figure out how to deal with a more physical league where defenders are allowed to put their hands all over you and the defense doesn't get out of the way when you drive the lane.
