No. For a time, it used to be marketed as a healthier option to butter. But, I don't think that has proven to be the case.
Old-time posters to this board may remember "Pru," who passed away several years ago. She was adamant that margarine was "one molecule away from being plastic." I don't have the background in chemistry to say "yay/nay" to that. But, I certainly don't prefer it to butter.
I used to use a bit of margarine in my mixture for garlic bread, because I put garlic bread under the broiler, and butter will tend to burn without something to "reinforce" it. Then, it occurred to me that a bit of oil serves the same purpose.
