Also, Jamie's LS had a slight underdog quality that works very well in the movie. Maybe that's kind of what you were saying when you cited Ann's higher "glamour" quotient.
Especially since she was the prom queen in Jaws 2!
In the tv-movie The Possessed she has a down-to-earth quality but she isn't quirky like JLC--and the comic book scene where she's talking to the kid about his comics--that is also a good scene for JLC because it shows how well she connects with the kids on their level.
I am not sure AD would have been as good there.
She was playing the co-ed having an affair with Harrison Ford -I cant picture JLC in that role.
