This doesn’t fit the subject of the thread exactly but I think it’s close enough. I was doing a job at this company once and during a break a group of guys started talking about their favourite comedies. They all brought up these silly comedies with Adam Sandler and Jim Carrey, that kind of thing – movies that you’d have to PAY ME to watch. So I kept my mouth shut. Then one of the guys noticed that I hadn’t said anything and asked me “you don’t like movies?”. I felt like saying “I love movies, I probably go to the movies more often than all of you combined, I just don’t like stupid comedies” – but of course I didn’t. I don’t remember how I actually replied. I have no issue with silly comedies, so long as they're actually funny, like Airplane! (1980). Surely, you're not saying AIRPLANE! is silly?
