I always liked asparagus but until relatively recently I never bought fresh ones at the grocery store to prepare at home. Then I tried them as appetizers at a friend’s home – they were just baked in the oven with a bit of olive oil, salt and pepper. Delicious! After that, I started buying asparagus whenever I saw them for sale at a decent price (prices vary wildly here).
Usually I just bake them as described above, but I’ve also been known to cut them up and add them to stir-fries.
