Thank you for the warm welcome back and for being understanding. When I left I was pretty sick with Pneumonia and was having trouble keeping up with everything on here and I felt like I was letting everybody down and for reasons I thought it was best to leave all forums and stick to emails but I am glad to be back now and it is nice to come back and see familiar faces on here. I remember talking to you on some of the music threads before and we have similar tastes in music and I remember you said you were a fan of Judas Priest and I was curious if you have heard James Durbin's new album, 'The Beast Awakens' 'cause I think you might enjoy it. I have two of the songs below and it is very different than the Pop albums he was releasing after he was on American Idol and this is the type of album he always wanted to make and is similar to Judas Priest, Dio and Dokken but the major record labels wouldn't let him. mszanadu was a great member and always very warm and friendly to everybody on here and I hope they return one day.
While I have never had pneumonia, the health anxiety part, along with the constant bad news coming up, with all kind of horror stories, 24/7, made me shy away from my family and just be indoors for weeks. But when I noticed the blood in the spit, and that special feeling in my chest, I was pretty upset. The blood in the spit part ended not long after, but the weird feeling in my chest/lungs, held on at last for several weeks, but never ended up getting into something worse or serious.
But for a few weeks, I slept terribly, and felt I had problems breathing when I lie down (most likely the anxiety did not help out much on that part), and I also did the mistake of searching/looking up all kind of systems/signs from Dr. Google, and then all of a sudden, things (for my part) was back to normal.
Hopefully that is how it is with you as well, but I guess getting back to the normal days again, in general, is something we might just have to live with a for a while longer.
But browsing through and chatting with the familiar ones, on this site, has certainly been one of the daily highlights for me, and I guess that I am not alone on feeling like that either.
Yes, I do remember we hit on well, with Judas Priest, and a few others as well.
I have not heard of James Durbin, as I am a "bit" far behind on what is going on, with modern music, but I do appreciate a few recommendations, and that album cover, is quite a piece of artwork, makes me think of comcis like Conan the Barbarian and Spawn.
About the two songs you posted. I think the second one: Into the Flames, is the one I enjoyed most. Not that the first one is any bad, but Into the Flames feels or sounds like something that could easily have been included into an late 80s horror film, which in my ears, is a good thing.
Completely agree with you on the warmth and kind replies by mszanadu, as they always put a smile on my face, that and her standout avatar from the film Harvey, which I did not know of, until just not that far ago. Somehow, that image has just been stuck with me, and always felt kind of "silly" to ask her where she had that picture from. But when I finally saw the film, I felt the feel good and sweet tone, that movie included so much of, lived up to mszanadu and her including and friendly appearance.
Anyway, I hope that your are doing fine, and is rid of the pneumonia.
I guess we well be catching up again, sooner or later, as I try to visit the General Discussion board, a bit more often, and will surely try to keep in touch with the videos posted in "What song are you listening to right know".
Hi again
Oh. I am sorry to hear about that. I know it can be hard sometimes to not let negative news get you down and over the past year there has been a lot of that and not just with the Coronavirus Pandemic but other things too and before the Shutdown happened here nearly a year ago we had a lot of fires in our state in the spring and summer that sadly burned down heaps of homes and buildings and there are some towns that still haven't got the support they were promised by our Federal Government 'cause they voted for the opposition at the last election so they are making them wait and then we had floods that put the fires out but caused damage too and it was the first time we had a major flood in our area since 1992 and it was weird seeing things under 'cause it had been so long since it happened and it has been kinda like one disaster to another and 2019 and 2020 have been horrible years and I am hoping things get better. One of my best friends passed away in a car accident last year and we had known each other since High School and were very close but we hadn't been seeing each other as much as usual with the Shutdown and were planning on doing a lot of things when it was safe again but we never got the chance and losing her was difficult and a part of me is still shocked over it 'cause she was only in her late 30s and I thought she would still be around for many more years to come and I would never lose her and what upset me the most is she has a young daughter who is now without a Mum and I just don't understand life sometimes and it is unfair. One of my Uncle's friends also committed suicide late last year and I didn't see that coming either 'cause the last few times we saw him he was happy and he lost his Wife a few years back and that was hard on him but we thought he was okay now but he must have been hiding it and the stress of the pandemic probably didn't help.
There was one wonderful thing that happened last year which changed our lives for the better and that was the birth of my Niece, Kylie and she is the most adorable baby in the world (but then I am kinda bias
) and I love having a baby in our family again and Beccy and I decided not to have kids but we love spending time with my Nieces and Nephew and one of my other Nieces (Courtney) always comes over and sleeps over on the weekends sometimes. Kylie has been a light in the darkness for all of us and she is going to be 6 months old next month and this will be her first Easter. I no longer have Pneumonia now and while I have had the flu a few times since then I have been mostly healthy and we have avoided getting the Coronavirus and with the numbers down, the vaccines slowly being released and a lot of the restrictions lifted in our state things are slowly going back to normal here and we have been going out more and went out for Valentine's Day and our wedding anniversary last month but we are being careful 'cause we have seen how quickly this can all start up again and Victoria had a Second Wave last year that saw more cases and deaths than any other state in our country. I hope things have been a lot better for you this month and I have never had problems with anxiety but know some people that have and I think the best thing we can all do is try to focus on the positive stuff more and not let all the bad news get us down and I know it is easier said than done but that is one of the main things that has helped me and some other things happened recently that have really got me down and I have spent nearly the past two weeks crying on and off but Beccy's birthday is coming up and Easter is coming up too and that is one of my favourite times of the year and I love Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies. I am glad you enjoyed the songs and I think the first song had more of a Dio feel to it and funny enough a lot of the tracks on the album share the same name or very similar names to Judas Priest and Dio songs and he got Chris Jericho on one of the tracks who most people know as a famous wrestler but is also the lead singer of Fozzy. Yeah. James Durbin came from the tenth season of American Idol and we are not really fans of Reality TV Shows and can't stand shows like 'My Kitchen Rules', 'The Bachelor' or 'The Bachelorette' but we like to watch some of the music competitions like Idol and the Voice 'cause they have had some pretty good singers come from them including some that didn't make it to the end or even past the auditions but have gone on to have success including Colbie Caillat who sang her Top 10 hit 'Bubbly' but was surprisingly rejected by the judges. I am not up to date with a lot of what they call Pop music now but I love a lot of the new AOR/ Melodic Rock Artists from Europe lately that have gone back to the 80s style but modernized it for a new generation and one of my favs is Work of Art which you can see below. Hopefully we will see mszanadu again one day 'cause her happiness and positivity was appreciated here.
