I must confess too that I've never heard of Rejane either.
I was a bit familiar with Sans-Gêne since there has been later versions. with Gloria Swanson 1925 and Sophia Loren 1961. I think it's about a washerwoman who becomes a duchess since they used that into the Swedish title of the Loren one (Tvätterskan som blev hertiginna).
