For me it just comes off as a poorly made and poorly written riff on the Indiana Jones movies. Some of it is fun, but most of it is uninspired mediocrity that is more dumb than funny or charming. Richard Chamberlain makes a lot of it work for me. Goldsmith's score is pretty good and I think it helps the movie really doesn't waste much time. Ever seen the sequel? With James Earl Jones? Richard Chamberlain is okay in it, but he is barely given anything to work with. He basically is just required to look good while doing stuff. I wasn't very impressed with Goldsmith's score either, but it is still is one of the better aspects of the movie. It adds an energy to the movie that is lacking in most other areas.
