Slightly overrated?: Maybe (they’re not the best thing since sliced bread, but too many think they are) Pretentious?: Slightly (Nolan tends to have too much exposition, but it’s elevated by the actors and the mood) Mediocre?: No (There’s way too much effort that goes into these that comes across on-screen. Not to mention the attempt to maximize practical effects over CGI is always welcome) Too serious?: No way (There are serious themes, to be sure, but I remember humorous moments from all 3. If you want too serious look at Snyder’s MOS and BVS) My #1 version of Batman?: No (While I enjoyed this trilogy from a filmmaking perspective, the most complete version of the Bat mythos is Bruce Tim’s animated series.)
