You're complaining about a superhero franchise jumping the gun and becoming exaggerated and more dramatic: what is it about a man dressed up as a giant bat hunting down crazed criminals in a rundown city that is telling you that "Warner Bros is going to try and dial things down a bit?" You realize the whole point of the Nolan reboot was to get away from the riddiculousness of the Schumacher films and "dial things down a bit", right? The Nolan films were supposed to be a more grounded and gritty take on Batman compared to the previous films. Hell the Burton films were an attempt to "reboot" Batman and get him away from the campy reputation of the 1960s show. Boring and gritty are two completely different things. A stadium exploding and a nuclear bomb are viable threats in our real world today so there's no reason why they shouldn't appear in a gritty Batman film. Whenever the words "gritty" and "grounded" are used you know nine times out of ten that the user of those dreaded words hasn't got a fucking clue what he or she is talking about.
