Casque d'or 1952, directed by Jacques Becker, Simone won a BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Actress. Interesting post, teleadm. I realize how much work goes into a long post like this and I appreciate it. Recently added Casque d'Or to my collection. It is a fine film, but two things struck me: --- It is very 1930's in style, yet is supposed to have been instrumental in kicking off the Nouvelle Vague. I just don't get that. --- And while the title comes from her widely admired 'helmet' of golden hair, I thought it was pretty hideous in most scenes (such as the one you have illustrated).
