Overrated? Perhaps. Not “massively overrated” though. Nolan knows how to make a movie and the first two demonstrate that talent. I’m not a superhero movie fan by any means but these two films get a lot right when it comes to technical proficiency and a compelling story. I have to agree that Rises was a weak effort. I tend to agree that Nolan may have been going through the motions on that one or accepting too much studio input...
