Fun horror movie, with a very good performance from Bruce Davison.
I dislike the remake quite a bit. It has none of the charm of the original and as usual, Crispin Glover displays his lack of talent. The main issue is that the original works because I sympathize with the main character, in the remake I don't.
I actually saw the remake before the original, so my dislike of it has nothing to do with it being a remake. It is a completely unpleasant movie from start to finish imo. It isn't funny, it isn't scary and it lacks humanity. It is more interested in just being weird and stylish than it is with anything else.
Crispin Glover is in another remake that has this same problem.
