No, they're not sanctioned at all. The theory is that eventually someone would have done the work of releasing him without any effort on his part - either legally or illegally.

Yeah I guess it really depends on if he was dusted or not. If not, then quite a bit of patience but I dont think he has that kind, especially inside a prison and a much better than average lifestyle outside of it
