When you really think about it, the MCU actually puts out above-average villains as far as the superhero genre is concerned. They've even put out some great villains. And this is why I think most fans get irritated whenever someone criticizes the MCU for having crappy villains. Like, crappy compared to what? The DC superhero movies? The Sony Spiderman movies? The Fox movies? Because those movies tend to produce even worse villains on average. Sure, they'll come up with a great villain every now and then but not really with more consistency than the MCU. For every Magneto you have an Apocalypse. For every Dr. Octopus you have an Electro. For every Joker you have a Riddler. You get my point. As of right now, the MCU actually has more good villains than they have bad ones. Most Bond villains are forgettable. Die Hard has had two great villains in 5 tries. Most movie villains are lame, that's what makes the good ones stand out. Zemo was always one of my favorite villains in the MCU, it's been a treat to see him explored further in this show. It's easier to list the lame MCU villains than it is to list the good ones, because most of them are solid at the very least.
