Not SS. It does feature college students, but it's not set on a campus. Your/limbo's institution guess is right on the money. Madhouse (2004)? I don't quite remember if there was a college angle, but that's a movie I remember from that era that has that asylum setting. Not that. Note that the asylum setting is brief.
