Look at the history of black face and white face. People who were black were already discriminated against based on their actual color. Black face was created as a way of demeaning and making fun of black people. Black negative. Now look at the history of white face. People painting their face white has a long tradition of social hierarchy, being healthy and pure. We know why they actually did it but it doesn't change the fact on how white face was portrayed and used in history as a status symbol. White positive To answer your question white face doesn't have the same negative implications as black face does. I understand your point and I am not diminishing the travesty of slavery and segregation and oppression for which our nation is responsible.
I still believe that no one has a right not to be offended. Not gays. Not Asians. Not blacks.
It's almost as if we don't respect them if we think they can't handle a caricature.
A good example is that of older white women and "Karens". Women have certainly suffered their share of oppression and discrimination. Now we mock strong women as "Karens"?
