The movie was originally called DOWN AND UNDER (if you watch the behind-the-scenes featurettes, you can see that title written on the clapperboard). After the success of SNOW DOGS, Jerry Bruckheimer asked for some changes to the script. That's how we ended up with this tonally confused movie with tacked-on scenes featuring the title character that have no effect on the plot. IKangaroo Jack pissed me off so much as a kid. They made it look as if it were a movie about a talking kangaroo, but it was just one scene that the makers of the preview decided to use. Yes, they did that on purpose to fool people, because they knew they wouldn't buy tickets otherwise. No effect on the plot? What about the jacket with the $50,000 that Louis puts on the kangaroo and they have to chase the kangaroo throughout the movie to retrieve it? Have you even seen the movie?
