Agreed. One doesn't really think of it because we're not used to it.
That's happened to me a few times. I realize it right in the nick of time, though.
I was going into the department store where I often frequent. I was just about to walk in when I realize. I'm running out to the car. Employee did say they had masks at the entrance. However, I did say I would get mine. Save the ones they have for someone who really NEEDS it.
For the other couple of times, I'm surprised the staff didn't hear me shout out, "OH CRAP!" because I forgot to put on a mask.
