Meh. I can’t shake the impression that this is only getting made because Disney is obsessed with making their movies accessible to China. The character is Chinese and has always been Chinese. Research is your friend. When did I suggest that the character isn’t meant to be Chinese? I’m saying that I’m pretty sure the only reason the character is getting a film is because Disney is obsessed with appealing to China.
