The Classic TV western “Cheyenne” did a fairly close approximation of The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre (The Argonauts S1, Ep3. November 1, 1955) with a stripped down cast and even using some footage from the famous film (the long shot of the Army patrol chasing the bandits and the turning of the rock to expose the Gila Monster beneath). The Dobbs character was played by Edward Andrews, Rod Taylor took Tim McCoy’s place. Cheyenne, who took the leadership role, was a insertion into the story.
