I liked it a lot. Unfortunately, it ushered in a period of wearisome early-60s nostalgia, which included Happy Days. That made the film come across as sappy. Lots of actors went on to big things: Richard Dreyfus, Cindy Williams, Harrison Ford, Suzanne Somers, Charles Martin Smith, Ron Howard, Mackenzie Phillips. Paul Le Mat was quite good, as was Bo Hopkins. Not sure how well known Wolfman Jack was outside the Southwest. I used to hear him on Armed Forces Radio.
