When I was a kid, my Dad was in the military and we were stationed in Florida for a few years... When we moved there, I was so excited to see the Ocean... But when I discovered that it was a dingy grey, the water felt yucky, and it didn't smell good... The excitement lasted for only about five minutes. Spend your vacation money on get a swimming pool instead. Where in Florida was he stationed? The panhandle? what branch - Navy? Florida beaches are aqua blue. He was in the Air Force and was assigned to Patrick Air Force Base. (Now: Patrick SPACE Force Base) which is just south of Cocoa Beach. He worked with the Range Safety guys, that made sure it was safe to launch the rockets from the NASA Space Center, and they were also tasked with pressing the self destruct button, when they went out of control, since civilians were not up to that task, especially when it came to the Space Shuttle.
