Essentially, no, I don't like them. But, of course, it's up to individual taste.
Two friends have had small "tats," and they have both told me that the regretted doing it. One had his first/last initials put on his forearm. He had it done when he was in the US military, in the early '60's. Another, a woman, had the outline of a fish tattooed near her ankle. She's a Pisces, and was into birth signs, at the time.
The biggest part of my "something else" response, is that I feel so sorry for very young people, who have depictions of large, intricate designs, which call full attention to arms, necks, legs and other body parts that are commonly seen in everyday clothing. I guess that, for them, it's popular now. But, I wonder how they'll feel when they get older, and their tastes change.
Of course, I could be wrong. It's happened, before.
