This is the poverty we see in travel videos. This British guy meets people who go straight to asking him for money.

That video sent me down a real rabbit hole. There's a youtube channel called Kolya the Storyteller. Seems there's some people regulary visiting him now, bringing him things, and recording his stories. That's nice to know.
