I don't get why Bruce says that he cannot control the Hulk when in the movies it shows that he clearly can. In the 70s "The Incredible Hulk" TV show, David had no memory or control over what the Hulk did. So him fearing "the monster" is logical. But we see that at the end of "The Incredible Hulk", Bruce smiles when his eyes turn green, hinting that he has found a way to control it. In the final fight in "The Avengers", we see the Hulk knowing what he was doing, killing only the bad guys and even saving Tony. In "Age of Ultron", he is even more in control. He doesn't kill Black Widow when she pushes him off the cliff. Even though he changes to his Hulk form, he understands what she tells him, does what is required of him and even has the understanding to switch off the communication in the Quinjet and fly away because the Hulk (not Bruce) feels that he is endangering his friends.
Clearly Banner is in control even when he is the Hulk. Sure he did wreak havoc when he was under the mind control of Loki and Wanda, but that is not a good enough reason to say that he "can't control it". Even Hawkeye did bad things when under Loki's influence. He actually killed people. That kind of mind control can make anyone form the Avengers go berserk and not just the Hulk.
Any thoughts? You agree or disagree with me?
No it's not control, it's more like taming.
The Hulk is a different personality altogether but they are aware of each other, and they get to know one another more and more so it would be like you being influenced by thinking about what somebody else would want you to do in a certain situation.
Hulk is also much more like a wild animal, say a tiger. Now you can tame a tiger, and even get it to obey commands, but it begins with a lot of wild instincts, and never loses that wild quality. That is the Hulk. It has befriended the Avengers, and knows Bruce trusts them and that they are good, so he will listen to people like Captain America.
But he's still not Bruce, and Bruce isn't guiding him directly. He's just been tamed a bit by knowing what Bruce wants.
It is also Bruce, the more intelligent of the two who can willingly summon the Hulk, but Hulk, the less intelligent and less self controlled, cannot willingly summon Bruce. He can only be sort of tricked into it, or eventually submit to it if left alone.
