In fact - we were one of the 8 seeds years ago to beat a #1 seed - about a decade or so ago when we were #8 and beat the #1 seeded Bulls

That is a defeatist attitude
I mean, the phrase "so you're saying there's a chance" literally comes from the movie "Dumb and Dumber." I'll let you decide which one of those said it.
It's like being down 11-1 in the 9th inning and expecting to win. Not hoping for a miracle, but expecting to win.
Over and over again despite previous results.
