Comedy seems to go through cycles. Speaking for myself, I lost interest in new comedians when asshats like Dane Cook became popular. When I listen to stand-up, it's usually stiff from the 70s to the early-90s. There is an exception every now and then (I've seen some of John Mulaney's stuff that I like). Mulaney and Nick Kroll do some good stuff. I like Tom Papa and Jim Gaffigan a lot. Jim Breuer always gets me.
