Well there's only franchises now--and even DiCaprio did a few---anything with a known historical figure is a kind of franchise or brand. Howard Hughes or Hoover.
Also when you have Tarantino or Scorsese--so DiCaprio is riding on them as well. Not him alone.
DiCaprio did one adventure movie franchise--the Three Musketeers which was not well received--his performance at least, so I guess he won't be doing that again.
The Rock did the Mummy films and Jumanji etc.
There are no actors who can sell a movie just with their name.
Eastwood is the only one I can think of who avoided franchises.
